Overview
Develop student understanding appreciation of music across genres. Identify and develop student talents. Create balanced music program and lessons. Inspire musicianship to motivate elementary students to stay involved with instrumental music. Utilize diverse music literature. Conduct assessments and modify methods for individual needs. Ensure compliance with CCS policies and maintain confidentiality.

- 3Create balanced music program organizing class time for preparation and instruction
- 4Develop lesson plans translating into learning experiences for optimal instruction time
- 5Instruct in choral knowledge skills and tone pitch rhythm tempo harmony development
- 6Inspire musicianship motivating students to remain involved with instrumental music
- 7Utilize repertoire of music literature appropriately
- 8Conduct ongoing assessment modifying methods for individual student needs including special needs
- 9Assist with planning and coordinating rehearsals for performances
- 10Instruct proper instrument care and usage
- 11Organize and maintain accurate records instrument inventory grading reporting
- 12Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents
- 13Enforce CCS Student Code of Conduct uniform code and computer usage code
- 14Promote good citizenship acting as role model
- 15Maintain confidentiality regarding school and student information
- 16Follow CCS Employee Handbook and local policies
Requirements11
- 1Four-year college degree and PA Music Education PK-12 certification
- 2Clearances including Criminal Background Clearance Act 34 Child Abuse Clearance Act 151 and FBI Fingerprint Clearance Act 114 within one year
- 3Demonstrated competence as classroom teacher
- 4Knowledge of current music curriculum and instructional methods
- 5Ability to organize and coordinate work independently within a team
- 6Strong communication skills with students and parents
- 7Experience with learning management systems such as Schoology
- 8Familiarity with Microsoft and Google applications
- 9Meet criteria for employment in Pennsylvania public schools
- 10Physical ability to sit stand bend stoop climb stairs reach overhead occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- 11Moderate to loud noise environment active
