What You'll Do10

  • 1Plan and tailor music instruction to meet Arizona Music Standard, focusing on Create, Relate, and Evaluate strands with cultural context.
  • 2Engage students in differentiated learning experiences across skill levels, using performances, portfolios, and varied communication mediums.
  • 3Coordinate music instruction with other teachers, integrating music throughout the curriculum.
  • 4Review and recommend modifications to the music curriculum to align with Arizona Music Standard and Core Knowledge sequence.
  • 5Plan and supervise three quarterly community celebrations alongside visual arts and physical education teachers.
  • 6Provide and supervise student performance opportunities, including evenings and weekends, to showcase skills and talents.
  • 7Instruct students in safe and proper use of music equipment and materials, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies within budget.
  • 8Serve as a mentor to students with behavioral or academic difficulties, using RTI resources to support achievement.
  • 9Organize and supervise field trips and community music events with the Paideia Family Center.
  • 10Maintain orderly classroom environment, document student progress, and communicate with parents through conferences and records.

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor degree in Music.
  • 2Teacher Certification and passed AEPA in content area.
  • 3SEI Endorsement preferred.
  • 4Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • 5Excellent experience teaching and working with diverse students in Music, or entering from an alternative certification program.
  • 6Experience teaching struggling students of diversity.
  • 7Working knowledge of Arizona state standards for Music.
  • 8Ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes environment.
  • 9Outstanding instructional skills, including motivating and challenging students and maintaining an orderly classroom.
  • 10Demonstrated expertise in Music instruction and strong personal accountability for student achievement.
