Overview
You will own targeting expertise for the Joint Targeting Cycle at Spear AI, a defense contractor building sonobuoy sensors and processing U.S. Navy SONAR data. You will bridge operational workflows with AI-enabled capabilities, shaping direction for mission-critical projects. Collaborate directly with leadership in a flat structure, working on real-world efforts that impact warfighter capabilities. This role combines deep intelligence support with cross-functional coordination, offering a unique chance to influence integration between data sources and development teams.
What You'll Do8
- 1Bring combatant command targeting expertise to bear across the Joint Targeting Cycle, driving operational effectiveness from day one.
- 2Identify integration opportunities between operational workflows, data sources, and AI-enabled capabilities, delivering actionable insights.
- 3Apply advanced systems-level target development and target system analysis to shape capability direction, ensuring alignment with mission needs.
- 4Translate operational targeting processes into developer-consumable workflows, requirements, and user stories, enabling rapid implementation.
- 5Communicate architectural tradeoffs, technical risks, integration constraints, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- 6Coordinate across operational users, platform owners, and technical development teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- 7Maintain awareness of theater-level targeting coordination across joint and service organizations, staying ahead of evolving needs.
- 8Work with joint targeting tools, intelligence platforms, and data environments, understanding their governance and ownership structures.
Requirements10
- 1Active TS/SCI clearance required; ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
- 25+ years demonstrated operational experience supporting the Joint Targeting Cycle at a combatant command.
- 3Deep understanding of intelligence support to targeting, including object-based intelligence and target development.
- 4Experience in COCOM targeting support roles such as CCMD J2T/J2C/J23 or equivalent.
- 5Advanced target development and target system analysis experience.
- 6Ability to move fluidly between the operations floor and the development team, turning targeting problems into builder-ready tasks.
- 7U.S. Citizenship required.
- 8Ability to support periodic travel (approximately every 30 days) to CCMDs, service components, operational units, and industry/vendor locations.
- 9Ability to operate in fast-paced, multi-vendor, government-led development environments with evolving priorities.
- 10Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical developers, operational users, senior leaders, and external vendors.
