Overview
You will own MIG welding of sheet metal components at a busy Olathe, KS fabrication shop, with 1st and 2nd shift slots open. The team produces steel parts for a leading sheet metal company, and you will join a crew of 10+ welders and fabricators. This contract-to-hire role pays $19-$23/hr with overtime. You will start right away after a rapid interview, working on steel tables and frames.
What You'll Do8
- 1Perform MIG welds on steel tables and sheet metal components from prints and verbal instructions.
- 2Grind and polish welds to meet quality specs and finish standards.
- 3Fit and tack parts before welding, checking alignment and dimensions.
- 4Operate wire feed welders and adjust settings for material thickness.
- 5Inspect finished welds for defects and rework as needed.
- 6Keep work area clean and organized, following safety protocols.
- 7Meet daily production targets on 1st or 2nd shift.
- 8Communicate with team lead on job status and material needs.
Requirements7
- 11+ year of MIG welding experience, including steel fabrication.
- 2Ability to read tape measure and basic blueprints.
- 3Comfortable with grinding and polishing tools.
- 4Steady hand and attention to detail for consistent welds.
- 5Willing to work 1st shift (7AM-3:30PM) or 2nd shift (3:30PM-11:30PM).
- 6Must pass weld test and background check.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent.
