Survey Technician CAD, Water/Wastewater Construction & Geomatics
Overview
The role owns surveying and CAD deliverables for water and wastewater projects at scale within the Phoenix area, supporting engineers, PMs, and field personnel. You will develop accurate CAD drawings, establish control, and produce As-Built files for engineers and owners. You will collaborate across Architects, Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents to ensure design and regulatory compliance. This role offers on-site field work with a strong emphasis on precise surveying and documentation.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build accurate CAD drawings for job site layout using AutoCAD and related tools
- 2Design and establish horizontal and vertical control systems for each project
- 3Develop As-Built files for engineers and owners
- 4Review surveys, existing control, and land records to verify data accuracy
- 5Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents to ensure regulatory compliance
- 6Maintain clean field books and well-organized records
- 7Support site layout of structures pipelines and process equipment
- 8Assist with safety requirements and adhere to OSHA standards
- 9Complete tasks with minimal supervision
- 10Prepare and update documentation for project teams and stakeholders
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Surveying Geomatics Civil Engineering or related field
- 25+ years of experience using survey equipment and AutoCAD
- 3Familiarity with State Plane coordinate systems
- 4Proficiency with surveying equipment such as total station GPS site level laser level; Leica products a plus
- 5Proficiency with AutoCAD Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
- 6Strong math skills including algebra geometry and trigonometry
- 7Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- 8Clean driver's license and knowledge of the Phoenix area
- 9Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds
- 10Background check and drug screen required
