Survey Rodman - Land Surveying
Overview
As a Survey Rodman at LJA Engineering, you will transport and set up survey instruments and prepare job sites for land surveys. You will support the Party Chief and survey crew in the field, ensuring accurate measurements and safe site conditions. This role offers hands-on experience in land surveying with a collaborative, employee-owned team.
What You'll Do6
- 1Transport and set up instruments and equipment for land surveying tasks.
- 2Clear brush or trees away from survey lines to ensure clear sight lines.
- 3Lay out stakes to mark elevations and survey points.
- 4Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to determine elevations accurately.
- 5Measure horizontal distances between points using tape measures or electronic distance measurement.
- 6Assist with various survey equipment including total stations and GPS units as directed.
Requirements6
- 1High school graduate or GED.
- 21+ years of experience in land surveying or related field work preferred.
- 3Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- 4Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.
- 5Must be able to lift 25 lbs repeatedly.
- 6Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
