Overview

The Inspection Services Support Manager II leads Inspection Services operations focusing on inspections code enforcement and housing inspection.   • 3Analyze and refine organizational structure
  • 4Develop and track policies and procedures
  • 5Supervise Permit Tech III supervisors
  • 6Identify process problems and make recommendations
  • 7Prepare operational reports
  • 8Establish online customer service plan
  • 9Serve as liaison to DBI divisions
  • 10Provide centralized coordination across DBI divisions
  • 11Oversee user-experience improvements
  • 12Direct resource allocation for department goals
  • 13Participate in budget development
  • 14Perform other related duties as necessary

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with four years of professional experience in engineering architecture or administrative functions related to building plan reviews construction permitting
  • 2Additional experience may substitute for the required degree on a year for year basis
  • 3Thirty semester units or forty-five quarter units equals one year of experience
  • 4Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required professional experience
  • 5Two years supervising Permit Technician series or equivalent
  • 6Master’s degree in Civil Electrical Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field
  • 7Knowledge of management administration techniques written and oral communication skills computer skills problem solving human resources management interpersonal skills team building leadership time management
  • 8Verification of education and experience required at any point during recruitment
