Supervising Stock Clerk Job - San Diego USD
Overview
You will run a major receiving and supply warehouse for San Diego Unified School District, the second largest district in California. You own the full operation: receiving, storing, and distributing instructional materials, equipment, and food. Lead a team of stock clerks, coordinate delivery schedules, and enforce safety protocols. This role requires 5+ years of progressive warehousing experience and a valid California driver's license. You will ensure schools get the materials they need on time, every day.
What You'll Do8
- 1Plan, organize, and supervise the activities of a major warehousing section for receiving, storing, and distributing instructional materials, stock and nonstock supplies, furniture, equipment, and foods.
- 2Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel, including work schedules and assignments.
- 3Coordinate distribution schedules with staff and vendors to meet instructional program requirements for all schools.
- 4Process invoices and receiving and delivery documents, and plan work schedules to ensure accurate inventory control.
- 5Contact staff, business representatives, and claims adjusters to resolve issues and enforce safety and security regulations.
- 6Conduct full inventories of all stock items and equipment as directed, using Forklift and Pallet Jack.
- 7Operate gas or electric Forklift, hydraulic pallet lift, and power and hand tools safely.
- 8Coordinate and supervise the movement of stock, supplies, instructional materials, discarded library books, mail, furniture, and fixtures between school sites and central offices.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of recent progressively responsible warehousing experience of acceptable level and quality.
- 2High school graduation or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 3Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage allowance provided).
- 4Experience supervising warehouse personnel, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- 5Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive stock inventories and process receiving, delivery, and invoice documentation accurately.
- 6Experience coordinating distribution schedules and enforcing safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- 7Ability to operate gas or electric Forklift, hydraulic pallet lift, and power and hand tools.
- 8Current classified monthly-salaried employee of San Diego Unified School District (promotional opportunity).
