What You'll Do11
- 1Oversee safety and instruction of youth ages 3-10 during weekly nature programs
- 2Lead youth on hikes and nature-based educational activities
- 3Create and implement weekly curriculum with co-instructors
- 4Troubleshoot emotional or behavioral issues with campers
- 5Mentor counselors-in-training during programs and planning
- 6Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- 7Cultivate positive relationships with parents and stakeholders
- 8Communicate with families via multiple channels
- 9Assist with organization planning and post-camp duties
- 10Maintain a happy environment for all participants
- 11Support nature exploration through open-ended and guided play
Requirements11
- 12 years teaching tutoring or mentoring experience with children ages 3-10
- 2High school diploma required
- 3Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 4Certification in nature survival animal tracking mapping or local flora fauna
- 5First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- 65+ years experience in educational settings
- 7Bilingual proficiency especially Spanish or Mandarin
- 8Reggio Emilia inspired approach to curriculum design
- 9Understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds
- 10Ability to manage small groups with ratios below 8:1
- 11Commitment to holistic child development principles
