Substance Abuse Counselor, CADC or LCADC
Overview
You will own substance abuse treatment for clients with documented drug or alcohol histories at Real House Inc in New York, NY. Reporting to the Substance Abuse Director, you will build case histories, run group and individual sessions, and coordinate release planning. What You'll Do8
- 1Build case histories and records for clients with CADC or LCADC certification
- 2Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions using evidence-based techniques
- 3Coordinate release planning and referrals to community resources
- 4Document all client interactions in customized databases within 48 hours
- 5Collaborate with the Substance Abuse Director on treatment plans and progress reviews
- 6Adapt communication styles to serve clients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural groups
- 7Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries in all client interactions
- 8Support crisis intervention and de-escalation during sessions as needed
Requirements8
- 1CADC or LCADC certification required
- 21+ years providing substance abuse counseling in a clinical setting
- 3Strong written and oral communication skills for documentation and client interaction
- 4Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed
- 5Proven ability to relate to clients from varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
- 6Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
- 7Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and customized databases
- 8Understanding of agency mission and ability to maintain boundaries with staff and clients
