Studio Practice Leader - Healthcare Architecture
Overview
You will lead the Health studio in New York City, directing multiple project teams and shaping design solutions for top healthcare clients. You own studio performance, from staffing and financial operations to design quality and client relationships. Collaborate with office and firm leadership to execute strategy and integrate HKS best practices. This role stands out for its focus on deep local health networks and mentorship of design talent.
What You'll Do9
- 1Direct project teams through design and delivery, from programming to construction, for healthcare clients across the New York City region.
- 2Shape design direction and lead critiques with the Studio Design Leader, ensuring high-quality documentation and client satisfaction.
- 3Act as primary client interface, building lasting relationships by understanding their mission and goals, and navigating expectations with clear communication.
- 4Oversee studio staffing, utilization, and growth, adjusting resource allocation to meet project demands.
- 5Monitor studio efficiency and financial performance, recommending process improvements.
- 6Partner with the Office Director to communicate firm initiatives and align studio goals with HKS strategic priorities, including sustainable design.
- 7Mentor and guide designers, fostering collaboration and an inter-disciplinary approach across all phases.
- 8Integrate HKS services and expertise into every project, seeking opportunities for sustainable solutions and innovation.
- 9Manage team communication and consultant coordination, ensuring seamless execution and quality control.
Requirements10
- 115+ years experience in architecture or interior design, with leadership roles in healthcare projects.
- 2Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
- 3Licensure or certification in chosen field preferred.
- 4Deep connections and networks in the New York City healthcare sector.
- 5Proven success leading design teams from business development through project delivery.
- 6Strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to persuade and negotiate.
- 7Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Project and Microsoft Teams.
- 8Experience with Vision software preferred.
- 9Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
- 10Willingness to travel as needed.
Salary Insight
$140 - $175k per year
