Overview
Structural Engineer at KPFF Seattle leads design for gravity framing, lateral systems, and foundations on a variety of building types. You will build 3D BIM models, prepare construction documents, and coordinate with drafters and multidisciplinary teams. What You'll Do10
- 1Build structural analyses and designs for gravity framing, lateral systems, and foundations using industry standard software
- 2Develop 3D BIM models and construction documents and coordinate with project drafters
- 3Delegate and oversee tasks for junior structural designers and provide technical direction
- 4Partner with project managers to plan and execute project work efficiently
- 5Lead construction administration activities including site observations and review of submittals
- 6Interpret and apply building codes such as IBC ASCE 7 AISC 360 ACI 818 and NDS
- 7Engage in client meetings and track coordination items across multidisciplinary teams
- 8Participate in KPFF Forefront program for mentorship and professional development
- 9Contribute to a collaborative team culture emphasizing creativity, curiosity, inclusion, and technical excellence
- 10Maintain strong communication with architects, developers, and design professionals
Requirements10
- 1BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 24-7 years experience with a consulting firm
- 3MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering (preferred)
- 4Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering (preferred)
- 5Structural engineering experience with reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, or post-tensioned concrete for buildings
- 6Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems (RAMSteel, RAMConcept) and CSI Software Suite (ETABS SAP SAFE), REVIT
- 7Strong client service orientation and collaboration skills
- 8Self-motivated and able to lead junior engineers
- 9Excellent communicational and organizational abilities
- 10Candidates must be able to work in Seattle, WA area or relocate if needed
