What You'll Do11

  • 1Full Ownership of metallic and composite structural component design
  • 2Provide technical guidance and detailed product knowledge to support build activities
  • 3Offer general Liaison Engineering support through disposition of non-conformances and process improvements
  • 4Oversee fabrication and assembly services procure components and lead vendor subcontractor performance
  • 5Plan and conduct test objectives data review and reporting
  • 6Create and modify drawings specifications and other documentation
  • 7Support procurement activities to sustain vehicle build schedules
  • 8Assist in monitoring build progress and identify opportunities to increase production rate while balancing risk
  • 9Perform or facilitate emergent analysis for non-conformances
  • 10Define and analyze hosted equipment interfaces to support hardware integration onto the vehicle
  • 11Monitor build progress and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria

Requirements17

  • 1B.S. degree in mechanical structural or related engineering field
  • 23+ years of proven track record with automotive aircraft spacecraft or launch vehicle structures
  • 3Fundamentals in mechanics of materials stress strain statics and finite element analysis
  • 4Experience with material selection compatibility and manufacturing techniques
  • 5Mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software
  • 6GD&T analysis proficiency ASME Y14.5
  • 7Experience with Creo Pro/E and Windchill
  • 8Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41
  • 9Iso/Ortho grid structure design
  • 10Shell buckling and compressive failure critical structural element design
  • 11Skin-stringer and sandwich panel fuselage design
  • 12Lean processes applied to design Agile product development methods for hardware engineering
  • 13Expertise with analysis codes Nastran ANSYS Optistruct LS/Dyna
  • 14Composite design and analysis awareness
  • 15Rapid development techniques for hardware
  • 16Systems engineering practices manufacturing fabrication and quality control
  • 17Optimization and DOE methods applied to design analysis and testing
