Overview
As a Structural Engineer 3, you will own structural analysis for launch vehicles and missiles at Apex Systems. You will support the Mechanical and Energetics department, working on ground support components. Your analysis will drive damage assessments and design refinements. This role stands out for its direct impact on aerospace hardware and requires Secret Clearance.
What You'll Do6
- 1Perform structural analysis on launch vehicle and ground support components using FEA tools.
- 2Analyze damage scenarios on missile structures and propose remediation.
- 3Develop finite element models for dynamic and static load cases in ANSYS.
- 4Collaborate with design teams to validate structural integrity of new components.
- 5Document analysis results and present findings to engineering leadership.
- 6Support test planning and correlate analytical results with physical test data.
Requirements6
- 15+ years of structural analysis experience in aerospace or defense.
- 2Proficiency with ANSYS or Nastran for finite element analysis.
- 3Experience with launch vehicle or missile structural design and analysis.
- 4Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
- 5Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- 6Strong understanding of MIL-STD and aerospace material properties.
