Overview
You will perform entry-level labor and routine maintenance on City streets, drainage systems, and related infrastructure in Duncanville, TX. You'll work under a Crew Leader, assisting with roadway repairs, debris clearing, traffic control, and storm response. This role operates dump trucks and light equipment, participates in on-call rotations, and supports skilled crews on heavy equipment tasks. You'll gain hands-on experience in public works maintenance with a path to a Class B CDL.
What You'll Do8
- 1Clear fallen trees, limbs, and debris from roadways, medians, and rights-of-way using chainsaws and hand tools.
- 2Clean creeks and drainage areas to ensure proper water flow using shovels and skid steers.
- 3Patch utility cuts and pavement failures with asphalt and pothole patchers.
- 4Operate dump trucks and light vehicles, completing pre-trip inspections and reporting maintenance issues.
- 5Set up and maintain work zone traffic control with cones, barricades, and signs for daily operations and events.
- 6Respond to storm events and emergency roadway issues as part of the on-call rotation.
- 7Support skilled workers in operating heavy equipment like excavators and loaders.
- 8Document daily work activities and follow instructions from the Crew Leader.

- 1High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2Valid US driver's license; Class B CDL preferred, must obtain within 1 year of employment.
- 3Basic knowledge of street and roadway maintenance practices.
