What You'll Do10
- 1Coach and develop every team member through ongoing one-on-ones, evaluations, and targeted training on espresso and coffee preparation standards.
- 2Lead by example on the floor, delivering 5-star service and modeling a guest-first attitude that turns issues into praised reviews.
- 3Train the team on new menu rollouts, FIFO rotation, and visual appeal to meet quality standards and Department of Health regulations.
- 4Proactively clean and maintain all espresso machines, brewers, and grinders, scheduling monthly deep-cleaning meetings.
- 5Manage controllable profit areas: sales, labor, and COGS, using data to build efficient schedules and control inventory.
- 6Reconcile payroll weekly, handle cash drawer counts, safe reconciliation, and bank deposits with 100% accuracy.
- 7Collect customer business cards and email addresses to build a database for grass-roots marketing campaigns.
- 8Respond to all Yelp and Google reviews, turning negative feedback into loyalty opportunities.
- 9Conduct monthly inventory counts and adjust ordering to meet COGS targets while preventing waste.
- 10Handle employee concerns promptly, escalating to coaching, warnings, or terminations with documented evidence.
Requirements7
- 12+ years leading a coffee shop or quick-service restaurant team with direct P&L oversight.
- 2Proven track record coaching and developing staff to achieve operational and service excellence.
- 3Strong financial acumen managing labor costs, inventory, and cash reconciliation.
- 4Experience with HR compliance and handling sensitive employee issues.
- 5Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 6Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for customer and team interactions.
- 7Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long shifts in a fast-paced environment.
