Store Associate, Retail & Guest Service
Overview
You will own the guest experience at a high-volume RaceTrac location, ensuring every visit is clean, stocked, and welcoming. You will run the register, manage food service areas, and keep shelves full, all while working with a team that values speed and accuracy. What You'll Do10
- 1Greet every guest with a smile and respond to requests within seconds, keeping lines moving at the register.
- 2Operate the POS system to process cash, card, and mobile payments, balancing the drawer at shift end.
- 3Prepare and serve food items per food safety standards, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature checks.
- 4Clean and sanitize food prep stations, coolers, and dining areas using approved chemical agents, and log tasks.
- 5Stock shelves, coolers, and displays, rotating product to maintain freshness and hitting inventory goals.
- 6Identify and address guest concerns on the spot, escalating to the shift manager when needed to resolve issues.
- 7Maintain a spotless store interior and exterior, from sweeping floors to wiping pumps, during every shift.
- 8Inform guests about current promotions and suggest add-on items to increase average basket size.
- 9Follow all safety protocols and RaceTrac policies, including handling hazardous materials and reporting hazards immediately.
- 10Complete daily cleaning checklists, including breaking down food equipment like coffee machines and grills.
Requirements8
- 11-2 years of work experience in retail, food service, or a guest-facing role.
- 2High school diploma or GED, or actively pursuing one.
- 3Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for full shifts.
- 4Willingness to obtain food handler or alcohol server permits if required by local law.
- 5Reliable transportation and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends.
- 6Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory counts.
- 7Comfort with using POS systems and mobile devices for training and communication.
- 8Team-oriented mindset with the ability to take direction and give feedback respectfully.
