Sterile Processing Technician, Healthcare Support & Instrumentation
Overview
Own sterile processing operations for a rural-access hospital serving perioperative teams and multiple clinics. Scale includes decontamination, preparation, packaging, and distribution of medical instruments and supplies across the facility. What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain sterile processing workflows to decontaminate, prepare, disinfect, sterilize, and store supplies and equipment
- 2Distribute surgical supplies and case carts to perioperative teams based on physician preferences and anticipated needs
- 3Monitor and document sterilizer indicators and safety data according to manufacturer instructions
- 4Inventory and restock materials supporting sterile processing services
- 5Assist in enhancing quality of sterile processing services and establish benchmarks as directed
Requirements7
- 1High School graduate or equivalent
- 2BLS Certification
- 3One year of sterile processing experience
- 4Exposure to aseptic techniques and handling of sharp instruments
- 5Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE
- 6Preferred: CSPDT or CRCST certification, CIS certification
- 7Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
