Overview
Staff Accountant will own core accounting operations at scale for a Commerce CA organization, supporting general ledger activities and corporate tax processes. The role collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely month end close. This position blends tax related accounting work with hands on ledger management and journal entry preparation.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build and record journal entries to reflect financial activity in the system
- 2Maintain the general ledger by reconciling balances and resolving discrepancies
- 3Support month end close by organizing schedules, verifying transactions, and delivering complete financial records on time
- 4Assist with corporate tax processes including compiling documentation and supporting tax return information
- 5Manage sales tax tasks by reviewing transactions, tracking obligations, and ensuring reporting compliance
- 6Analyze accounting data to identify inconsistencies and recommend corrections for accuracy
- 7Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather financial information for day to day accounting operations
Requirements7
- 1Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role
- 2Knowledge of corporate tax concepts and related reporting activities
- 3Hands on experience with sales tax processes and compliance support
- 4Ability to prepare journal entries and work confidently within the general ledger
- 5Experience participating in month end close procedures and meeting reporting deadlines
- 6Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and review financial data accurately
- 7Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
