Sr. Network Engineer, Infrastructure & Security
Overview
You will design, implement, and manage the network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and scalability across 5+ sites. You will own the installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. You will monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper equipment. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a multi-site environment is essential. This role stands out for its direct impact on uptime and security across the entire organization.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deploy Cisco and Juniper routers and switches to support new site rollouts and capacity upgrades.
- 2Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, implementing security policies and VPN tunnels for remote access.
- 3Monitor network performance using SolarWinds and Wireshark, resolving latency and packet loss issues within 24 hours.
- 4Lead the migration of legacy MPLS circuits to SD-WAN, ensuring zero downtime during cutover.
- 5Automate routine network tasks with Python scripts to reduce manual configuration errors.
- 6Document network topology and change procedures, ensuring compliance with ITIL standards.
- 7Provide tier 3 support for network incidents, collaborating with the helpdesk to resolve escalations.
- 8Conduct quarterly security audits and patch management for all network devices.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of experience as a network engineer or administrator in a multi-site environment.
- 2CCNP or CCIE certification required.
- 3Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos, including OSPF and BGP.
- 4Strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA.
- 5Experience with SolarWinds or similar network monitoring tools.
- 6Scripting skills in Python or Perl for network automation.
- 7Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Viptela, Meraki) is a plus.
- 8Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
