Overview

You will design, implement, test, and support large-scale LAN/WAN/Data Center network solutions using Arista and Cisco platforms. Reporting to the network manager, you will collaborate with security, systems, and application teams to deliver high-availability infrastructure. This hybrid role in Charlotte, NC or Irving, TX starts as a 6+ month contract with potential extension. You will own network changes from planning through validation, with a focus on BGP and OSPF in a multi-vendor environment.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Design and implement Arista and Cisco switches and routers for Data Center and campus networks, delivering high-availability connectivity.
  • 2Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, and static routing across 10G and 100G links to ensure optimal path selection.
  • 3Deploy and manage VXLAN and EVPN overlays for network segmentation and workload mobility.
  • 4Implement and maintain QoS policies, ensuring low-latency for mission-critical applications.
  • 5Collaborate with security teams to enforce ACLs and firewall rules, aligning with compliance standards.
  • 6Lead network maintenance windows, executing changes with zero downtime and rollback plans.
  • 7Produce and maintain network diagrams and documentation using Visio or NetBox.
  • 8Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performing packet captures and Wireshark analysis to root cause.
  • 9Automate repetitive network tasks using Python or Ansible for configuration and validation.
  • 10Support DDoS mitigation strategies, analyzing traffic patterns and adjusting BGP communities.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years designing and supporting enterprise Data Center networks with Arista and Cisco gear.
  • 2Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and MPLS with hands-on troubleshooting in production environments.
  • 3Proven experience with VXLAN and EVPN overlay architectures.
  • 4Strong understanding of QoS, IPsec VPNs, and network security best practices.
  • 5Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or PRTG.
  • 6Ability to lead migration projects from Cisco to Arista without service disruption.
  • 7Excellent documentation and communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • 8CCNP or CCIE certification preferred, with Arista ACE a plus.
  • 9Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend maintenance windows.
