Overview
Lead the corporate Supplier Quality Assurance function for direct production components and materials to ensure robust supplier performance and compliance. This role drives strategy and builds a proactive supplier ecosystem while partnering across departments to achieve flawless launch execution.
What You'll Do20
- 1Develop and execute supplier quality strategy aligned with IATF 16949 and internal goals
- 2Establish and maintain supplier quality policies and performance scorecards
- 3Partner with Procurement on commodity strategy and market insights
- 4Conduct risk assessments and process sign off for new suppliers
- 5Perform routine audits and maintain approved supplier lists
- 6Lead supplier development initiatives to enhance capability
- 7Oversee APQP deliverables and PPAP approvals
- 8Validate supplier manufacturing readiness through capability studies
- 9Approve PPAPs and coordinate on-site data verification
- 10Guide suppliers through process requalification and engineering changes
- 11Recommend VA/VE ideas based on SQA observations
- 12Respond to supplier quality issues with rapid containment strategies
- 13Review product complaint notices with plants and suppliers
- 14Oversee structured problem solving for supplier issues
- 15Ensure regulatory compliance with IMDS REACH and other requirements
- 16Facilitate training forums between SQA and plant quality teams
- 17Develop dashboards and KPI reporting tools for leadership
- 18Support automation and analytics for SQA department efficiency
- 19Build high-performance SQA team with continuous improvement focus
- 20Prepare annual SQA department budget with rationales
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 7-10+ years automotive supplier quality experience
- 2Master's degree preferred
- 3Deep knowledge of IATF16949 AIAG Manuals APQP PPAP SPC CQI and automotive regulatory requirements
- 4Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes especially foam technology
- 5Advanced statistical analysis and capability study skills
- 6Risk management and problem-solving abilities
- 7Leadership and cross-cultural collaboration skills
- 8Proficiency in advanced Excel and technological tools
- 9Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
