Sr. Human Resources Generalist, Manufacturing & Labor Relations
Overview
You will own talent acquisition, employee relations, and coaching for a 500+ person manufacturing workforce, driving HR strategy for Atkore's Safety and Infrastructure division. You will partner with the Director of Human Resources on investigations, labor relations, and performance management, bridging hourly and salaried teams. What You'll Do9
- 1Manage talent acquisition for salaried and hourly roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation, to fill 20+ requisitions per quarter.
- 2Design and implement employee relations strategies that reduce risk and improve engagement, handling investigations through the Compliance Hotline with documented outcomes.
- 3Lead labor relations and grievance processes, partnering with union representatives to resolve issues within 30 days and maintain a strike-free environment.
- 4Coach supervisors and managers on performance management, including succession planning and training development, to increase internal promotion rates by 15% in year one.
- 5Conduct GEMBA walks with leadership to identify workforce barriers and implement Lean-based improvements that cut voluntary turnover by 10%.
- 6Own the HRIS data integrity for headcount, turnover, and compensation analysis, producing monthly reports that guide strategic staffing decisions.
- 7Deliver supervisor skills training sessions and new hire orientation, ensuring all 200+ new hires complete onboarding within their first week.
- 8Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee changes, reducing payroll errors by 50% through cross-functional audits.
- 9Travel to alternate sites up to 25% to provide consistent HR support, building relationships with remote plant leadership teams.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in human resources, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- 3Proven ability to conduct complex employee investigations with objectivity and documentation.
- 4Experience with labor relations and union environments, including grievance processing and collective bargaining support.
- 5Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems for data analysis and reporting.
- 6Excellent interpersonal skills to coach employees and management through difficult emotional issues.
- 7Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or off shift times to support 2nd and 3rd shift operations.
