Sr Fire Protection Engineer
Overview
Leadership role supporting Disney Parks projects as Owner’s Technical Representative overseeing design and sustainment across Disneyland Resort and ancillary properties. Report to A&FE MEP Engineering Sr. Manager in Anaheim CA. Drive technical excellence and code compliance.
What You'll Do11
- 1Act as Owner’s Technical Representative witnessing construction document signings
- 2Manage contract documents for projects using in-house and external resources
- 3Coordinate design activities and monitor field installations ensuring code compliance
- 4Develop concept designs and RFPs while reviewing drawings and specifications
- 5Review shop drawings and respond to vendor information requests
- 6Perform site visits to solve problems and minimize schedule impacts
- 7Partner with internal teams to enforce design guidelines and standards
- 8Validate product specifications before archiving manuals
- 9Build communications to successfully execute all projects
- 10Represent owner during AHJ interactions
- 11Ensure fire protection systems meet local and state codes
Requirements13
- 16+ years fire protection engineering experience
- 2Working knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and NFPA Codes
- 3OSHA compliance experience with NFPA ASTM ICC CFR standards
- 4Field experience designing fire protection systems and consulting
- 5Knowledge of fire modeling tools for smoke spread and egress analysis
- 6Owner’s representation and AHJ capacity
- 7CA Professional Engineer license
- 8NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist certification
- 9Mechanical plumbing experience in theme parks and resorts
- 10Fire testing and material regulation knowledge
- 11Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- 12BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 13Master’s degree in related field preferred
