Overview
You will own the design and layout of fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and HydraCAD, delivering accurate drawings for projects across Atlanta. You will apply NFPA standards to system designs, coordinate with contracting teams, and mentor junior designers. What You'll Do8
- 1Design sprinkler systems with AutoCAD and HydraCAD, applying NFPA standards for building and hazard classifications.
- 2Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure system performance meets code requirements.
- 3Coordinate sprinkler piping with other building components to avoid clashes and ensure installability.
- 4Conduct field checks of completed designs to verify accuracy and adjust layouts as needed.
- 5Collaborate with district contracting teams to align design schedules with installation crew needs.
- 6Schedule material deliveries to job sites to meet installation start dates.
- 7Mentor junior designers in sprinkler design best practices and software use.
- 8Support sales with design estimates for project bids.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21-5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
- 3Working experience with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, or equivalent sprinkler design software.
- 4Ability to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebra.
- 5Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and a hydraulic calculation program.
- 6Ability to interpret and apply NFPA standards for automatic sprinkler system layout.
- 7NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.
Salary Insight
