Speech Language Pathologist Outpatient
Overview
You will own individualized therapy programs for outpatient patients at Menorah Medical Center, a 190-bed acute care hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. You will evaluate communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments and clinical observation. You will develop treatment plans and educate patients and families, collaborating with physicians, nursing, and rehab staff. This contract role includes a $10,000 Sign-on Bonus for qualified candidates and access to HCA Healthcare benefits. You will supervise therapy aides and students, with opportunities to work with pediatric and adult populations.
What You'll Do7
- 1Evaluate communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments like SLP tools and clinical observation.
- 2Develop individualized treatment plans that support communication clarity and safe swallowing, adjusting as patients progress.
- 3Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries with accuracy.
- 4Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety recommendations, and home strategies.
- 5Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, rehabilitation staff, and care managers to coordinate care and transitions.
- 6Supervise therapy aides and students during clinical activities.
- 7Implement treatment plans for dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders in pediatric and adult populations.
Requirements5
- 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school.
- 2Certificate of Clinical Competency in SLP.
- 3Current Kansas Speech Pathology licensure.
- 4BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire.
- 5Experience with pediatric and adult populations preferred, including familiarity with neurogenic communication disorders and dysphagia.
