Specialty Billing Technician Walgreens Charlotte NC
Overview
Manage accurate billing and collection of third party and patient payments for Walgreens Charlotte location. Submit timely invoices determine correct pricing verify authorizations and submit Medicare documentation process reimbursements and resolve chargebacks.
What You'll Do17
- 1Submit timely accurate invoices to payer for products and services provided
- 2Correctly determine quantities and prices for products and services billed
- 3Verify services and products are correctly authorized and required documentation is on file
- 4Ensure Medicare documentation is received from medical provider and submitted to Danville
- 5Review reports to maximize generic substitution opportunities
- 6Manage and collect patient balances prior to prescription dispensing
- 7Ensure all required documentation for billing is completed and accurate prior to claim submission
- 8Process reimbursement checks in accordance with policy
- 9Review price modify logs and ensure corresponding SDL claims
- 10Handle third party audits and process SDL claims
- 11Process and file all SDL claims
- 12Proactively communicate with patients and providers regarding referral and prescription status
- 13Maintain deep understanding of assistance programs enrollment confirm eligibility and report documentation
- 14Handle non‑personal phone calls to physicians and third party payers
- 15Maintain subject matter expertise on external billing practices to coach staff
- 16Process prescription exceptions including prior authorizations triage referrals and identify copay assistance opportunities
- 17Provide verbal and written communication to various audiences regarding service quality and customer satisfaction
Requirements11
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2Pharmacy Technician license in required states
- 3PTCB or ExCPT certification through designated program or state requirement
- 4Experience communicating verbally and in writing to diverse audiences
- 5Customer service orientation for internal and external stakeholders
- 6Six months retail experience preferred
- 7Prior Walgreens experience preferred
- 8Knowledge of Medicare submission and EOB interpretation
- 9Familiarity with remittance advice and timely filing limits
- 10Ability to enter data into databases such as MS Excel
- 11Clean arrest and conviction record acceptable
