Special Services Lead, RIM Molding & Quality
Overview
Lead the Special Services department at Exothermic Molding, a pioneer in Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) since 1972. You will oversee packaging, assembly, masking, Silk Screen application, drilling, and shipment prep, ensuring every part meets stringent quality standards. Report to the General Manager and Quality Manager, coordinating daily plans and leading a team to hit throughput goals. This onsite role in New York offers growth in a stable, expanding facility.
What You'll Do9
- 1Direct the daily execution of packaging, part assembly, masking, Silk Screen application, and drilling operations
- 2Coordinate with the Production Scheduler to implement the inspection and packaging plan, adjusting as needed
- 3Inspect parts in-process and at final stage, verifying compliance with shop drawings and first piece samples
- 4Lead and motivate department staff to meet production and quality standards, maintaining good manufacturing practices
- 5Achieve throughput and quality goals by effectively using documentation, equipment, and labor
- 6Interpret process documents and ensure all required operations are completed per defined procedures
- 7Prepare shipments and ensure all packaging meets customer specifications
- 8Troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions in real-time
- 9Document inspection results and report metrics to management
Requirements8
- 1High School diploma or GED
- 23-5 years in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- 31-2 years in a leadership role, guiding teams to meet production targets
- 4Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
- 5Skill in measuring and inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- 6Detail-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- 7Physically able to stand for the entire work shift
- 8Reliable, results-oriented, and quality-conscious
