Manufacturing Quality Inspector - Injection Molding
Overview
You will own quality control for injection molding production, inspecting materials and finished plastic carts to ensure zero defects. You join a 24/7 plant with a 2-2-3 schedule, working nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You collaborate with production and engineering to reduce scrap and rework, using calipers and micrometers daily. This role offers a path to Quality Technician and ISO 9001 auditing certifications.
What You'll Do8
- 1Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products against specifications and quality standards.
- 2Measure dimensional accuracy with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- 3Read blueprints and technical drawings to verify tolerance and compliance.
- 4Identify and quarantine non-conforming material in Quality Hold areas.
- 5Document inspection results and test findings in digital systems.
- 6Partner with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and reduce scrap.
- 7Support continuous improvement by reporting defect patterns to quality management.
- 8Cover additional shifts with notice and supervisor approval.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or GED required; quality certification preferred.
- 22+ years of quality inspection in manufacturing.
- 3Read blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- 4Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- 5Strong math and documentation skills.
- 6Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- 7Lift up to 50 pounds and roll up to 500 pounds.
- 8Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is plus.
- 9Flexibility for varying shifts and overtime.
