Overview
You will own test engineering for a next-generation cyber training environment supporting the US Army and Joint cyber defense community. This is a mid-level, cleared role based in Orlando, FL, requiring an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI. You will design and execute test cases across hardware and software baselines, working with Python, Playwright, Cypress, and Linux in a hands-on capacity. The role stands out because you directly shape the testing strategy for the DOD's largest cyber range, PCTE.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and create test cases, scenarios, and procedures for hardware and software baselines, using tools like Jira and Zephyr.
- 2Execute unit, configuration item, and system-level tests, managing automated testing with Playwright and Cypress.
- 3Develop detailed test plans and reports for all test levels, documenting outcomes and defects for the team.
- 4Collaborate with customers and engineers to clarify requirements and validate software implementation in Linux environments.
- 5Automate test scripts using Python and integrate them into Jenkins, OpenShift, or GitLab pipelines.
- 6Perform verification and validation testing, including performance and scalability tests on web-based applications.
- 7Debug and sustain automation scripts, troubleshooting hardware and software issues to ensure system reliability.
- 8Support installation of software and hardware at remote sites, up to 20% travel, ensuring environments are correctly configured.
Requirements10
- 1Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to attain Top Secret/SCI (U.S. citizenship required).
- 24+ years of experience testing or debugging software, hardware, and training systems.
- 34+ years of hands-on Linux experience, including command-line tools and scripting.
- 4Experience testing web-based applications in evolving environments, using Python and frameworks like Playwright or Cypress.
- 5Proficiency writing detailed test procedures and automated test scripts, with familiarity in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, OpenShift, GitLab).
- 6Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (computer engineering, computer science, IT, systems/software engineering), or equivalent military/work experience.
- 7Ability to prioritize tasks in a demanding environment while maintaining installation schedules and attention to detail.
- 8Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr for test management and collaboration.
- 9Experience with virtualization technologies and hardware troubleshooting or fault diagnosis.
- 10Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
