Overview
Lead the technical architecture of custom enterprise applications and SaaS products for external customers. Define scalable secure maintainable system designs enforce architectural standards drive full software lifecycle. Serve as primary technical authority bridging engineering product infrastructure security teams. Deliver high quality commercially viable software products.
What You'll Do14
- 1Define and own end-to-end technical architecture for all custom enterprise applications and SaaS products including system design component interactions data flows integration patterns multi-tenancy models technology stack selection
- 2Establish and maintain architectural standards coding patterns best practices conduct architecture reviews approve designs ensure consistency quality across custom software
- 3Translate business operational and product requirements into clear architectural blueprints technical specifications design documentation guide engineering teams from concept through production
- 4Architect SaaS platform capabilities tenant isolation subscription licensing models multi-region deployment customer facing APIs enable external customer integration and extension
- 5Lead evaluation and selection of frameworks platforms cloud services third party components produce proof of concept implementations validate architectural decisions before full development
- 6Partner with developers and engineering leads during design development testing phases ensure implementations align with architectural intent deliver quality expected by external customers
- 7Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams design for performance scalability high availability disaster recovery security SOC II Type 2 compliance architecture controls
- 8Define data architecture governance standards custom applications data residency customer data isolation retention policies integration with enterprise data systems
- 9Identify mitigate technical debt architectural risks system vulnerabilities in custom enterprise applications and SaaS products develop remediation roadmaps execute them
- 10Champion AI assisted development practices AI coding tools automated code review intelligent testing integrate safely within custom built systems
- 11Design AI powered features LLM API integration RAG pipelines AI agent frameworks define architecture for AI powered features considering accuracy latency cost privacy responsible AI
- 12Provide technical mentorship elevate engineering organization capability build maintain custom software at scale
- 13Participate in agile planning contribute sprint planning backlog refinement cross team technical alignment across custom application and SaaS product teams
- 14Stay current with industry trends relevant to custom software development SaaS delivery recommend strategic technology investments to leadership
Requirements18
- 1Bachelor degree in Computer Science Information Systems Software Engineering or related field required
- 2Master degree preferred
- 3AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud architecture certification preferred
- 4TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification a plus
- 58+ years software development experience minimum 3 years in software architecture principal engineer or technical lead role
- 6Proven delivery of custom enterprise applications or internally built SaaS products to external customers
- 7Expert level proficiency JavaScript TypeScript modern front end frameworks React or equivalent custom enterprise commercial applications
- 8Deep experience designing cloud native architectures on Azure or AWS microservices serverless containerization Docker Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines multi tenant SaaS delivery
- 9Strong knowledge relational NoSQL database design query optimization data modeling SQL Server PostgreSQL customer data isolation multi tenancy patterns
- 10Ability to architect custom SaaS platforms tenant onboarding subscription licensing enforcement customer facing API design usage metering
- 11Experience architecting for security compliance high availability SOC II Type 2 or similar audit frameworks across customer facing systems
- 12Expertise API design integration patterns REST GraphQL event driven architecture message queuing internal enterprise external SaaS APIs
- 13Proficiency DevOps tooling GitHub Actions Azure DevOps infrastructure as code Terraform Bicep automated testing frameworks
- 14Hands on experience AI assisted development tools GitHub Copilot Claude similar evaluate safe effective use within engineering organization
- 15Hands on experience architecting AI powered products LLM APIs RAG vector search agent workflows prompt engineering model tradeoffs production
- 16Ability design scalable observable AI systems token management latency optimization output validation hallucination mitigation feedback loops
- 17Excellent communication skills present complex architectural concepts technical non technical audiences external customers
- 18Experience with PowerShell C# or Python preferred
