Overview

Licensed Special Education Teacher leading a center-based program for students with significant cognitive physical and behavioral needs at Englewood Middle and High Schools. This exempt full-time position requires creating structured learning environments using adaptive curricula and inclusive practices. What You'll Do8

  • 1Create IEPs evaluate academics and life skills conduct progress reports facilitate FBAs and BIPs deliver CoALT assessments
  • 2Schedule students align instruction with needs provide ELA math lessons based on extended outcomes for SSN students teach life skills classes
  • 3Apply research-based methods support extracurricular activities and community-based learning
  • 4Assist with personnel care manage behavioral support and implement assistive technology systems
  • 5Conduct data-driven instruction monitor progress maintain records and supervise paraprofessionals
  • 6Collaborate with specialists coordinate schedules and participate in weekly special education meetings
  • 7Communicate with administrators share updates and address implementation challenges
  • 8Ensure compliance with federal state and district policies and handle additional duties as assigned

Requirements11

  • 1Bachelor's degree with Master's preferred
  • 2Valid Colorado teaching license with special education endorsement
  • 35+ years experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders
  • 4Expertise in designing adaptive curricula aligned with EEOs and CAS
  • 5Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple student caseloads independently
  • 6Proficiency in assistive technology and augmentative communication systems
  • 7Experience coordinating paraprofessional teams and providing professional development
  • 8Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • 9Ability to lift 5-10 pounds and support students with physical limitations
  • 10Commitment to inclusive practices and diverse student populations
  • 11Background check clearance and willingness to undergo fingerprint processing
