Showroom Sales Associate, Ceramic Design & Home Goods (Part-Time) Ferry Building
Overview
This role owns in-person sales in a busy San Francisco showroom serving design-minded customers. You will help shoppers discover Heath Ceramics products, process sales, and keep the space organized and inviting. You’ll work with a small team in a high-traffic environment and gain exposure to our history, ceramics, and sustainable practices. This role stands out for its combination of customer service, product storytelling, and hands-on merchandising in a renowned design brand.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build engaging customer experiences by welcoming visitors, asking thoughtful questions, sharing product knowledge, and recommending items that fit customer needs
- 2Process sales, returns, and transactions accurately while contributing toward sales goals
- 3Restock and organize merchandise to maintain a presentation-ready showroom throughout the day
- 4Support day-to-day showroom operations by managing priorities in a high-traffic space and communicating feedback to the Showroom Manager
- 5Maintain clean, visually appealing displays and ensure product replenishment happens in a timely manner
- 6Assist with opening and closing tasks and use POS and related technology to support transactions
- 7Provide attentive customer service in a compact environment and help customers understand product features and benefits
- 8Share Heath’s story and product history to educate customers and enhance their shopping experience
- 9Collaborate with team members to meet daily targets and maintain consistent service levels
- 10Document inventory needs and customer feedback to improve showroom operations
Requirements10
- 11–3 years of sales experience, preferably with a design-led brand
- 2Ability to meet and exceed team sales goals
- 3Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a small, high-traffic retail environment
- 4Interest in ceramics, design, home furnishings, and related creative pursuits
- 5Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 6Ability to identify customer needs, problem-solve, and explain product features clearly
- 7Knowledge of mobile POS systems (Shopify is a strong plus)
- 8High comfort with technology (Mac OS, iPad/laptop, Google Workspace, ecommerce searches)
- 9Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift 30 lbs of ceramic dinnerware
- 10Availability to work Sundays and additional weekday hours as needed
