Shipping and Receiving Clerk, Land Rover Houston
Overview
You will take charge of all inbound and outbound shipments at Land Rover SW Houston, a Sonic Automotive dealership, tracking every part and parcel that moves through our service and parts departments. You will own the shipping and receiving records, coordinate with internal teams, and keep the dock organized and safe. This role sits at the center of our dealership operations, directly affecting how quickly we serve our customers and keep our inventory flowing.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build a flawless tracking system for every incoming and outgoing shipment using our inventory management software.
- 2Process parts and accessories for shipment, verifying part numbers and quantities against packing slips within the first 90 days.
- 3Coordinate with parts and service managers to prioritize urgent deliveries and communicate status updates.
- 4Audit the shipping and receiving log weekly to ensure accuracy and flag discrepancies immediately.
- 5Organize the dock area, labeling shelves and bins to reduce retrieval time by 20%.
- 6Manage the service car rental program, maintaining contracts and scheduling returns.
- 7Handle customer parts pickups and resolve any shipping-related issues in a calm, professional manner.
- 8Follow all safety protocols and keep the work area hazard-free.
Requirements8
- 11+ years in shipping, receiving, or logistics in a dealership or warehouse setting
- 2Valid driver's license and clean MVR
- 3Pass pre-employment background check, drug test, and credit report
- 4Authorized to work in the USA
- 5Proficient with inventory management systems, including Fusion or DealerSocket
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts
- 7Basic computer skills with Excel and Outlook for tracking and email
- 8High school diploma or equivalent
