Shift Leader, Fast Food Restaurant Management
Overview
You own the shift. You manage the full front and back of house, from food safety to guest satisfaction, at a Smashburger location. You lead a team of 8-15 crew members, drive service standards, and keep operations running. You'll report to the General Manager and coordinate with corporate support. This role offers a fast track to management with paid training and tip share.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead the shift, owning both front and back of house operations from opening to closing.
- 2Coach and develop crew members, using SmashConnect and the 4-step training method.
- 3Reward top performers and address performance gaps to build a strong team.
- 4Complete daily checklists, including line checks, uniform standards, and safe and deposit logs.
- 5Drive guest satisfaction by monitoring NPS and OSAT scores and acting on feedback.
- 6Enforce food safety standards, following local health department regulations.
- 7Manage inventory and food ordering, adhering to COGS procedures.
- 8Follow cash policies to minimize theft and shortages, securing the register.
- 9Onboard new hires, ensuring they complete training and feel part of the team.
- 10Model SIZZLE service standards on every shift, setting the tone for the crew.
Requirements10
- 1Previous shift leader experience in a restaurant or retail setting.
- 290-day completion of the train the trainer course.
- 3Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- 4Ability to follow Smashburger uniform and operational guidelines.
- 5Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 6People management skills to coach, motivate, and lead a team.
- 7Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- 8Proven time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
- 9Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- 10Comfort working in high-temperature kitchen environments.
