Service Writer, Automotive Service Department
Overview
You own the service department's daily workflow at a busy automotive center. Oversee service advisors, manage repair orders, and keep the shop running on time. What You'll Do6
- 1Oversee day-to-day service operations, assigning work to advisors and tracking progress
- 2Manage the flow of paperwork including invoices, repair orders, and maintenance records
- 3Mentor service advisors on sales techniques and customer interaction best practices
- 4Ensure repairs and maintenance complete on schedule, coordinating with technicians
- 5Address customer inquiries and resolve issues on the spot
- 6Drive team performance by monitoring metrics and implementing improvements
Requirements6
- 12+ years experience as an automotive service writer or advisor
- 2High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
- 3Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
- 4Successful completion of pre-employment drug and background screening
- 5Deep understanding of automotive repair services and technician duties
- 6Experience as an automotive service manager preferred
