You will own the full repair cycle for small gas engines and electric motor systems, from diagnosis to rebuild, at a busy Atlanta-area service shop. You will work on industrial pressure washers, floor care machines, and flat surface cleaners used by commercial clients. Your days will split between mechanical tear-downs and electrical troubleshooting with multimeters and wiring schematics. This role suits a technician who thrives on independent problem-solving and sees each repair as a craft to master.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Diagnose small gasoline engine failures and repair or rebuild components like carburetors and pistons.
  • 2Test and repair electrical components, including ignition systems, starter motors, relays, and wiring harnesses, using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • 3Perform routine servicing such as oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug gapping to prevent breakdowns.
  • 4Disassemble engines to access internal parts, replace worn or broken pieces, and reassemble to manufacturer specifications.
  • 5Read electrical schematics and follow wiring diagrams to trace shorts and open circuits.
  • 6Document inspection findings, test results, and repairs completed for each work order.
  • 7Maintain a clean and organized workbench, ensuring all tools and parts are accounted for.
  • 8Communicate repair needs and timelines to the service manager and interact courteously with clients when needed.

Requirements5

  • 11-2 years of professional experience repairing small engines, with a focus on industrial pressure washers or similar equipment.
  • 2Proven electrical diagnosis and repair skills, including reading schematics and using multimeters and other diagnostic instruments.
  • 3Working knowledge of hand and power tools common to the power equipment repair industry.
  • 4Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and bend, stoop, and kneel comfortably.
  • 5Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
