Overview

The Senior Web Content Specialist owns the School of Pharmacy's public website and affiliate properties, managing content across Terminal 4 CMS and ensuring WCAG 2.1 compliance. This role sits within the Office of Communication and Marketing, collaborating with faculty, departments, and campus communications to maintain a cohesive online brand. You will write feature stories for the News Center, curate content, and drive analytics reporting for stakeholders. This position stands out by offering strategic oversight of web presence while still being hands-on with content creation and accessibility testing.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Write and publish feature stories for the News Center, covering grants, research, and events.
  • 2Manage Terminal 4 CMS content for the website, including homepage, interior pages, and faculty profiles.
  • 3Maintain the information architecture and ensure all pages meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
  • 4Develop a review schedule for department, center, and program content to keep information current.
  • 5Design custom site analytics reports for departments using Google Analytics or similar tools.
  • 6Create templates for new event, program, and initiative microsites.
  • 7Coordinate with web development and instructional technology staff on design and accessibility.
  • 8Cross-train on Constant Contact and social media platforms to provide backup coverage.
  • 9Act as a central point of contact for web content and special projects, gathering information from stakeholders.

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field (English preferred).
  • 24+ years of experience in web content management, writing, or web development.
  • 3Proficiency with Terminal 4 CMS or similar content management systems.
  • 4Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and implementation experience.
  • 5Strong grammar and editing skills with ability to write for varied audiences.
  • 6Experience writing for educational institutions or on scientific topics preferred.
  • 7Expertise in using web for brand management and development.
  • 8Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • 9Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to web content and accessibility.
