Overview

Own the digital platform strategy for Colorado's education community, supporting 900,000+ students, 53,000+ teachers, and 1,888 schools through the state's public website, intranet, and learning management system. As the primary web liaison for the Educator Talent Division, you will write, edit, and manage accessible content, analyze site data, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure clear, user-centered communication. This role blends strategic communications with hands-on web management, offering the chance to shape digital experiences for a state agency committed to equity and transparency.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Publish and maintain website content using CMS platforms like Finalsite, ensuring alignment with accessibility standards and plain language guidelines.
  • 2Collaborate with program offices to clarify content needs, improve readability, and remove outdated information for high-priority updates.
  • 3Support LMS user access and troubleshooting, coordinating requests and maintaining user instructions for the learning management system.
  • 4Analyze web analytics and engagement data to identify trends and recommend content improvements for Educator Talent pages and dashboards.
  • 5Develop training materials and guidance for content coordinators on CMS use, accessibility, and effective digital communication practices.
  • 6Manage division landing pages and web content, adapting tone and detail based on audience needs and program goals.
  • 7Coordinate publication of public-facing dashboards with business intelligence staff, ensuring accessibility and clear communication of educator workforce data.
  • 8Use AI-assisted tools to enhance content quality and user experience.
  • 9Track and report on web performance metrics, summarizing findings and suggesting usability or content improvements.

Requirements9

  • 16+ years of experience in communications, website management, multimedia journalism, web analytics, or public relations, or a combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
  • 2At least 2 years directly related to web content management or digital communications.
  • 3Experience writing and editing website content for diverse audiences.
  • 4Proficiency with CMS platforms such as Finalsite, Edlio, or Apptegy.
  • 5Knowledge of accessibility standards and plain language principles for digital content.
  • 6Experience using website analytics tools to drive content improvements.
  • 7Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • 8Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and work independently.
  • 9Must reside in Colorado and be willing to commute to CDE offices as needed.
