What You'll Do8

  • 1Manage probate and trust administration matters from opening through final distribution, including preparing petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, and court filings.
  • 2Draft estate planning documents using WealthCounsel, and review trusts, wills, amendments, and beneficiary designations for accuracy.
  • 3Coordinate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and opposing counsel to keep matters moving and resolve issues.
  • 4Monitor court deadlines and ensure all filings meet statutory timelines.
  • 5Assist with trust funding, asset transfers, and final distributions to beneficiaries.
  • 6Maintain complete and organized electronic files in Smokeball or similar practice management software.
  • 7Identify legal and procedural issues early and communicate them to the supervising attorney before they escalate.
  • 8Provide exceptional client service by keeping clients informed and responding promptly to inquiries.

Requirements8

  • 17+ years of recent trust and estate paralegal experience.
  • 2Experience independently managing probate and trust administrations from opening to final distribution.
  • 3Active California Notary Public commission.
  • 4Qualifications to serve as a paralegal under California Business & Professions Code §6450.
  • 5Strong working knowledge of California probate law and procedures.
  • 6Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • 7Experience with legal practice management software.
  • 8Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
