The City of Alexandria seeks a Senior Therapist to lead individual and group psychotherapy for adults with substance use mental health and co-occurring disorders. What You'll Do7
- 1Build and deliver evidence based interventions for substance use mental health and co-occurring disorders
- 2Design person centered collaborative treatment plans and conduct quarterly reviews
- 3Lead DBT consultation and experiential psychodynamic workgroup sessions
- 4Coordinate care management referrals and maintain clinical records compliant with state federal and payer regulations
- 5Prepare court reports and present cases during peer consultations four times yearly
- 6Provide emergency crisis intervention and participate in staff development initiatives
- 7Assist with backup intake support and maintain compliance with credentialing requirements
Requirements5
- 1Masters degree in Social Work Mental Health Counseling Psychology Education or related field with two years of direct clinical experience in substance abuse psychiatric and emotional disorder services
- 2Current licensure as LPC LCSW LSATP or Clinical Psychologist in Virginia with eligibility for full licensure within one year of appointment
- 3Valid driver's license for positions requiring driving duties
- 4Three years of psychotherapy experience providing group and individual therapy with diverse populations
- 5Proven track record of completing professional development in evidence based modalities and documentation systems such as Credible EHR
