Overview
You will lead complex substation engineering and design projects across Northern California, covering a territory from Oregon to Santa Barbara. As part of a 2,000-person Electric Engineering team, you will manage large-scale, high-budget projects and provide technical direction to peers. This hybrid role offers the chance to influence electric infrastructure while working from West Sacramento, Fresno, or Oakland.
What You'll Do8
- 1Manage large-scale substation projects, performing engineering analyses, studies, and conceptual designs.
- 2Lead, coach, and direct technical teams on complex engineering issues.
- 3Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical direction.
- 4Finalize contract project specifications and evaluate technical bids.
- 5Support land, permitting, and legal departments on project issues.
- 6Resolve complex problems with creative, non-standard approaches.
- 7Plan work independently to meet general objectives.
- 8Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and public agencies on project matters.
Requirements6
- 1BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited curriculum.
- 28+ years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering and design.
- 3Experience in multiple large-scale, large-budget electric substation projects.
- 4Skilled in project management and substation engineering.
- 5Current California PE license.
- 6Local to Sacramento, Fresno, or Oakland with willingness to travel 20%.
