Overview

You will architect and demonstrate observability solutions for Fortune 500 companies using VictoriaMetrics, the open-source time-series database. You will bridge the gap between our Enterprise platform and customers' complex Linux infrastructures, handling the most technical engagements and partnering with our development team. This role blends deep technical consulting with hands-on POCs, and you will influence product roadmap with direct feedback.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Lead technical discovery for strategic accounts, analyzing their current metrics, logs, and traces stack to design high-performance solutions with VictoriaMetrics Enterprise.
  • 2Architect and demonstrate sophisticated use cases for observability, including instrumenting real workloads with Linux agents or OpenTelemetry collectors.
  • 3Build and execute complex Proof of Concepts that prove value, requiring hands-on work with Linux agents or OpenTelemetry collectors.
  • 4Design scalable deployment plans for agents and collectors across Kubernetes clusters, VMs, and bare metal.
  • 5Translate customer requirements into technical specifications for the development team and provide feedback on product capabilities.
  • 6Collaborate with support and product management to ensure technical success and advocate for features like eBPF and WASM.
  • 7Create advanced technical content (white papers, blog posts, sample dashboards, scripts) that establishes authority in the engineering community.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years in Pre-Sales, SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering roles with a track record of managing complex technical sales cycles.
  • 2Expert-level Linux mastery: you can troubleshoot CPU spikes, memory leaks, and disk I/O bottlenecks using strace, tcpdump, and vmstat.
  • 3Deep understanding of the three pillars (Logs, Metrics, Traces) and the business value of reducing MTTR.
  • 4Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry for metrics collection and visualization.
  • 5Experience with containerization using Docker and container principles.
  • 6Proficiency in Bash and at least one high-level language (Python or Go) for automation.
  • 7Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and Load Balancing.
  • 8Nice to have: Experience with Kubernetes (sidecars, DaemonSets, Helm charts) at scale, knowledge of SSO providers, and advanced PromQL skills.
