Senior Software Engineer, Healthcare Tech
Overview
Lead one or more software engineering teams at McKesson, a Fortune 10 healthcare company, through the full development lifecycle. You will define design requirements with stakeholders, architect scalable solutions, and ensure system interoperability across complex data-driven applications. Collaborate with Product Support, QA, and SREs to drive process improvements and deliver reliable, secure software. This role offers 100% remote work within the U.S., but you must work during Central Standard Time business hours. You will mentor peers, set standards, and directly influence the future of healthcare technology.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead engineering teams through the full development lifecycle, defining design requirements with stakeholders and architecting scalable solutions using Java, Python, and AWS.
- 2Code solutions independently using TypeScript, ReactJS, and VueJS, and mentor peers through code reviews, debugging, and refactoring.
- 3Establish coding standards and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability across teams, leveraging GitHub Copilot for code assistance.
- 4Oversee software quality, release management, and monitoring strategies, including observability with DataDog and disaster recovery planning.
- 5Identify and resolve severe security vulnerabilities, contributing to secure coding strategies and ensuring compliance across the stack.
- 6Drive process and productivity improvements, collaborating with Product Support, QA, and SREs to streamline workflows and reduce technical debt.
- 7Visualize system architecture, data flow, and service boundaries using Draw.io and Confluence to communicate designs effectively.
- 8Align technical initiatives with product and business timelines using Atlassian JIRA Advanced Roadmaps and Agile methodologies.
- 9Identify hotspots and refactoring opportunities using AWS Bedrock and GitHub Copilot, optimizing performance and maintainability.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a data-related field plus 6+ years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 4+ years of experience.
- 24+ years coding with Ruby, PHP, .NET, JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, Python, and CSS.
- 34+ years using frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, Flask, Cypress, Jest, Mocha, VueJS, ReactJS, and PySpark.
- 44+ years with AWS, Docker, and Databricks for building and deploying multi-tiered web-based systems.
- 54+ years in manual and automated testing, version control systems, and agile methodologies.
- 64+ years developing technical strategy using real-time metrics, performance data, and incident trends from DataDog.
- 74+ years visualizing system architecture and data flow with Draw.io and Confluence.
- 84+ years aligning technical initiatives with product timelines using Atlassian JIRA Advanced Roadmaps.
- 94+ years identifying hotspots, tech debt, and refactoring opportunities using AWS Bedrock and GitHub Copilot.
