Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Platforms
Overview
Owns reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed enterprise applications in cloud environments at scale. Collaborates with engineering, product, infrastructure, and operations to build, monitor, and support highly available systems while driving modernization and operational excellence. Works across Linux/Unix, Java microservices, and REST APIs, leveraging automation and cloud platforms to resolve complex issues. This role differentiates by combining production support, SRE-like discipline, and platform engineering within a global financial services setting.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain distributed platform services to ensure high availability and resiliency in cloud environments
- 2Design and implement automation for deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows
- 3Drive modernization efforts across on premise and cloud deployments to improve performance and reliability
- 4Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve complex incidents and implement proactive observability
- 5Ship enhancements to REST APIs, message queues, and integration points with a focus on security and compliance
Requirements5
- 1Strong experience supporting Linux/Unix based distributed applications
- 2Proficiency with Java microservices and REST APIs
- 3Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP or Azure
- 4Experience with containers and distributed architectures
- 5Strong scripting and automation using Python and Bash and Jenkins
