What You'll Do13
- 1Serve as lead resource and primary point of contact for officers during shifts providing guidance and support
- 2Coordinate post coverage and shift assignments to maintain security presence across facilities
- 3Conduct building and grounds inspections focusing on safety lighting and emergency systems
- 4Monitor incident reports for completeness and ensure timely follow up
- 5Support emergency drills lockdowns and active threat exercises
- 6Provide feedback on campus safety trends to the security supervisor
- 7Assist new officer onboarding modeling professional conduct and customer service
- 8Operate CCTV access control and alarm systems logging issues appropriately
- 9Perform patrols to deter crime and promote policy compliance
- 10Respond to calls for service including medical incidents and facility access needs
- 11Support events with crowd management traffic control and emergency readiness
- 12Maintain accurate records and daily activity reports
- 13Promote positive community relations through courteous interactions
Requirements11
- 1High school diploma or equivalent plus four years of security work experience
- 2Valid Florida Class D Security License and drivers license
- 3FEMA ICS certifications within six months of hire
- 4CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within six months
- 5Experience with security operations patrol techniques and emergency response procedures
- 6Familiarity with Florida Statutes the Clery Act and college public safety practices
- 7Strong conflict resolution crisis de-escalation and customer service skills
- 8Ability to interpret college rules procedures and post orders
- 9Proficiency in computer communication systems and electronic security tools
- 10Composure under stress sound judgment and written verbal communication abilities
