Overview
Asurion seeks a Senior Research & Development Engineer to lead system-level engineering solutions at a global scale. This role owns product development testing platforms process innovation and R&D initiatives across a 17,000 employee organization. The ideal candidate will mentor junior engineers and drive scalable high-performing solutions.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and optimize system-level engineering solutions integrating processes tools data and workflows across functions
- 2Lead complex cross-functional initiatives impacting quality performance cost scalability or lifecycle outcomes
- 3Establish and refine engineering standards validation methods documentation practices and process controls
- 4Own key system KPIs and proactively drive improvements through structured analysis and sustainable countermeasures
- 5Serve as subject matter expert advising leadership on risk feasibility and long-term impact
- 6Lead advanced root cause analysis and corrective action strategies across multi-functional systems
- 7Support new product introductions technology deployments and process transformations with system-level readiness and validation oversight
- 8Mentor Engineer 1 and Engineer 2 team members elevating technical depth and structured problem-solving capability
- 9Partner with global teams suppliers and stakeholders to align engineering solutions with long-term strategy
- 10Communicate technical direction tradeoffs and recommendations clearly to leadership
- 11Remain adaptable to evolving priorities while maintaining accountability for system performance and reliability
Requirements9
- 1Advanced knowledge of engineering principles within assigned discipline
- 2Strong system-thinking capability understanding interactions across processes tools data and people
- 3Proven ability to design scalable solutions beyond individual features
- 4Proficiency in RCA CAPA FMEA DOE and statistical analysis
- 5Experience driving standardization and engineering best practices
- 6Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline required
- 7Typically 6-9 years of progressive engineering experience
- 8Demonstrated success influencing system-level engineering outcomes
- 9Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives preferred
