Senior Process Engineer Electronics Assembly Honeywell Aerospace
Overview
Develop and sustain electronics assembly processes for RF and waveguide components at Honeywell Aerospace. Drive process capability quality cost reductions and operational efficiency through data-driven problem solving and cross-functional collaboration. Report to Sr Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor working onsite in Woburn MA.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead development qualification and continuous improvement of electronics assembly processes including SMT wave selective solder manual assembly microwave hybrid assembly conformal coating testing wire bonding.
- 2Define and maintain process parameters work instructions PFMEAs control plans and standard operating procedures.
- 3Specify evaluate and implement new production equipment tooling and automation to improve throughput quality and ergonomics.
- 4Drive root cause investigations using structured problem solving methodologies such as 8D DMAIC and PFMEA updates.
- 5Utilize Lean and Six Sigma to analyze production data identify trends process variation and areas for improvement.
- 6Support New Product Introduction activities including DFM/A reviews process design and production readiness.
- 7Partner with Quality Engineering to resolve defects reduce scrap rework and strengthen process controls.
- 8Train operators and technicians on new processes equipment and best practices.
- 9Lead or contribute to cost reduction initiatives related to materials processes and yields.
- 10Ensure compliance with IPC A-610 J-STD-001 ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- 11Act as technical subject matter expert for electronics assembly processes.
Requirements5
- 17+ years experience in electronics manufacturing microelectronics assembly or related process engineering roles.
- 2Strong knowledge of microelectronic assembly soldering standards IPC guidelines and PCB manufacturing fundamentals.
- 3Hands-on experience with pick and place machines reflow ovens AOI AXI wave selective solder auto bonding and conformal coating.
- 4Proficiency in process characterization DOE SPC and data analysis.
- 5Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects from concept to implementation.
