We seek a Senior Paralegal to support the Department of Justice’s mission in Washington DC. This full-time contract role requires extensive litigation experience and offers travel up to 10% continental US. What You'll Do11

  • 1Draft substantive legal documents such as subpoenas and deposition notices for Assistant U.S. Attorneys
  • 2Maintain document inventories and conduct financial background research using automated tools
  • 3Prepare discovery documents applying knowledge of the Federal Rules of Evidence
  • 4Provide litigative case management by organizing discovery and exhibits
  • 5Coordinate with federal agencies to ensure compliance with financial litigation directives
  • 6Monitor case progress and initiate actions to meet deadlines
  • 7Compile and index discovery exhibits and witness testimony
  • 8Perform administrative duties and use established databases for data retrieval
  • 9Utilize eDiscovery tools and procedures for evidence collection
  • 10Deliver high-quality work under pressure in a collaborative team environment
  • 11Support witness interviews and deposition preparation

Requirements11

  • 1Paralegal certificate or JD with at least one year of study or equivalent education
  • 2Minimum 2 years litigation paralegal experience including 1 year in automated litigation support
  • 3Excellent written/oral communication skills with knowledge of federal court systems
  • 4Thorough understanding of LEXIS and Westlaw legal research tools
  • 5Hands-on familiarity with word processing databases spreadsheets imaging and hardware systems
  • 6Familiarity with eDiscovery procedures and electronic evidence handling
  • 7Ability to manage complex datasets with advanced Excel skills
  • 8Strong database management expertise including data normalization
  • 9Legal background with interest in technology and data management
  • 10Proven leadership experience mentoring teams and defining procedures
  • 11Experience implementing data management best practices
