Senior Innovation Engineer leads innovation on Marketplace products driving platform primitives new product bets adoption optimization and AI-native development while owning outcomes and mentoring junior engineers. This is a hands-on building role focused on delivering leverage not features.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design and build durable reusable services using microservices and async orchestration Temporal
- 2Ship prototypes and MVPs for new marketplace products collaborating directly with customers
- 3Support quality craftsmanship and adoption on existing products improving workflows and reducing friction
- 4Develop agent harnesses and AI/LLM integrated workflows extracting and reasoning over unstructured documents
- 5Participate in customer discovery synthesizing findings into actionable inputs for product and engineering leads
- 6Partner with staff engineers on system design and begin informal mentorship of newer engineers
- 7Identify and fix workflow friction within own projects while maintaining high engineering standards
- 8Own outcomes from idea to impact ensuring rapid delivery and continuous improvement
- 9Drive AI native capabilities across the stack leveraging tools like Claude Gemini and OpenAI
Requirements10
- 14-7 years of software engineering experience with backend and distributed systems fundamentals
- 2Proven track record shipping technical MVP or prototype to customer-tested state in fast iteration environments
- 3Some experience building with LLM providers or document extraction tooling preferred
- 4Exposure to agent harnesses RAG pipelines or other AI/LLM integrated workflows is a plus
- 5Data engineering ML or document processing background is a meaningful differentiator
- 6Experience in financial services construction real estate payments lending insurance or similar complex B2B domains is valuable
- 7Ability to work across the stack with comfort in financial services domain
- 8Strong communication skills and low ego preferring collaborative product work over handoffs
- 9Curiosity about customer problems and genuine desire to solve them
- 10Experience with mentorship and guiding newer engineers is a plus
